Membership is open to Michigan's collision repair community: shop owners, the technicians who do the work, the businesses that supply the industry, and the educators and students preparing the next generation to join it. Choose your membership class below and apply online. Admission is immediate upon completed application and payment.
Every membership year runs twelve months from the date you join, so there is never a bad time to start. Regular Member dues include integrated national Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) membership for every member location.
For Michigan collision repair shops. The voting membership of MABA.
For businesses serving Michigan's collision repair industry: paint and materials suppliers, equipment dealers, software providers, and service vendors.
For technicians, painters, estimators, and other trade professionals working in Michigan collision repair. Membership follows you, not your employer.
For instructors, teachers, administrators, and students affiliated with a collision repair, automotive refinishing, or related trade program at a Michigan high school, career technical center, college, or training institution.
Every MABA Regular Member location receives full national membership in the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS), which joins over 6,000 collision repair businesses nationwide. That is a $475 annual value, built into your MABA dues:
MABA's voting membership belongs to Michigan's shop owners. Regular Member admission is self-service with no approval wait, because eligibility is based on objective, published criteria that you certify during the application. You will be asked to certify one of the following:
The business (i) operates one or more collision repair facilities in Michigan; (ii) is majority owned by one or more individuals actively engaged in the operation of the business; and (iii) is not owned or controlled, in whole or majority part, by a publicly traded company, a private equity or investment fund, or a subsidiary thereof.
The facility is a collision repair facility operated as part of a franchised new motor vehicle dealership licensed by the State of Michigan and operates in connection with that dealership.
There is no limit on the number of direct repair program (DRP) contracts a Regular Member may hold. MABA may verify eligibility at any time. Automobile insurers and their affiliates and representatives are not eligible for any class of membership. Businesses that do not meet Regular Member eligibility are welcome as Associate Members.
Applications are handled through MABA's secure membership portal. Your membership is effective immediately upon completed application, certification, and payment.
Most applications take about five minutes.
