Regular Member Eligibility

MABA's voting membership belongs to Michigan's shop owners. Regular Member admission is self-service with no approval wait, because eligibility is based on objective, published criteria that you certify during the application. You will be asked to certify one of the following:

Basis A: Owner-Operated Business

The business (i) operates one or more collision repair facilities in Michigan; (ii) is majority owned by one or more individuals actively engaged in the operation of the business; and (iii) is not owned or controlled, in whole or majority part, by a publicly traded company, a private equity or investment fund, or a subsidiary thereof.

Basis B: Franchised Dealership Collision Center

The facility is a collision repair facility operated as part of a franchised new motor vehicle dealership licensed by the State of Michigan and operates in connection with that dealership.

There is no limit on the number of direct repair program (DRP) contracts a Regular Member may hold. MABA may verify eligibility at any time. Automobile insurers and their affiliates and representatives are not eligible for any class of membership. Businesses that do not meet Regular Member eligibility are welcome as Associate Members.
